Five people find themselves in a dark, twisted 'Wonderland'

I was a male character. There were three women and two men. Doors, corridors, false 'outdoor' areas...

I was meant to be an observer, a chronicler.

Occasionally one would be singled out and my awareness would turn to them.

The other man was in to sports. Of a sort. He had a rare nerd-jock family and his father taught him knife/star throwing and how to fight with that Klingon weapon, the bat'leth. Of course they used a padded version in real life. When it was his 'turn'....

He opened a door and stepped in to a grassy field, an outdoor park. There were children playing soccer not far away. He found a throwing knife with blades at each end in one hand, his bat'leth in the other. After looking at them in puzzlement he looked back up at the children and saw Freddy Kruegar grinning at him, a weapon of his own in one hand, in the clawed hand he held a saw blade.

(Banter escapes me) he threw the sawblade and it curved gracefully through the air to the man who blocked it and threw his own knife. It missed. Freddy threw the sawblade again, it curved at the last second and bit in to the mans right hand. He pulled it out and it returned to Freddy. (The crappy part is that I shared his awareness and felt the pain he felt)

He tried becoming a moving target and putting trees and posts between them, the sawblade curved gracefully around everything and wrapped around his hand. He fought Freddy hand-to-hand for a few moments before being gutted.

Then my awareness was back with the group. The women were snipping at each other, trying doors. One had a crystal knob but when they looked, there was another farther down and to the right.... and another and another and another...

I watched a second death - one of the girls who was pulled in to her own past and killed but it has faded.

I woke, as the man, in the yard of a strange house. Twin girls playfully pulled me inside, gave me something to eat and took me to meet their mother. She was reading a book in bed.

Freddy appeared and talked to us for a bit. She was his 'wife'... though more his captive. She lived only as long as she humored/obeyed him. It was explained to me that I was part of the family now and I was to write down his activities when I was there with him.

It had something to do with the balance of good and evil - I was one of the alotted 'good' ones he was supposed to keep around. As per whatever agreement, I was to have a break from the death in the dreams so he brought me here where he could keep an eye on me.

He returned to the dream world to torment the remaining people a while longer. As soon as he was gone, his wife was out of bed, pulling normal clothes on over her night clothes and throwing things in a suitcase.

She explained that he was more distracted now than he ever had been and she wanted to take the chance to escape. I didn't think it would work - but she was clearly near a breaking point and wanted to die trying to escape so I did what I could to help her.

She had just gotten her things together when he appeared in the doorway of the room, an amused smile his only expression. He waved at me and I was back in the dream. The girls had begun to figure out some of what was going on and even, to an extent, my part in it. They knew I was different but thought me truly protected.

I explained that no, I was not safe from death. I see and experience their deaths with them and I will probably die too, I'll just be the last to go.

Shortly after that I woke up for real.

Additional Comments:

This was actually a pretty fun dream. The pain part sucked but it's the first dream I've had in a while where something actually happened! Lately it's all been regular days where things go wrong... me being awkward.

I'm curious as to whether it will continue tomorrow....

What surprises me is that it seems almost a mishmash of three or four movies but none I've seen in a long time.

There was a post-apocalyptic feel to the dream, though I don't remember what happened. I was part of a group of people that had essentially set up a village at a campground away from the cities. Then came the cityfolk. A group of people who decided they would be taking over. Over the course of the three days in the dream, they went around picking out what was to be kept, destroying most of the stuff they didn't want and recruiting people. Those who wouldn't join them were killed. A few at a time. The rest were kept imprisoned - watched at the very least. I was granted some amount of freedom along with most of the other women.

I don't remember much else - I remember them burning art and books they didn't like, I remember sneaking away to a stand of trees on the edges of the camp to cry so no one would see me crack. I woke shortly before they came to recruit/kill me.

This was sometimes first, sometimes third person.

I was a little girl - perhaps five or six. I had an unusual ability where anything I wrote down, I could make real if I wanted it bad enough.

Well, while my dad was at work and mom had to run next door for a moment, my little brother fell and hit his head - then stopped moving. I panicked and wrote him back to life so I wouldn't get in trouble. When he woke up, he looked around, licked the blood off the floor and everything was back to 'normal'. I was pretty freaked out by that - but thought I would get in trouble if I said anything so I just kept quiet.

The dream skipped forward a few years at a time - he was normal most of the time and entirely unaware of what happened.... but now and then it was like he had a second personality and that guy was not at all right in the head. Most people never saw him - but I would get glimpses. He was the 'torture little animals' sort of guy. When we were teenagers I finally figured out exactly what was wrong, realised it was MY fault and found out that when everyone else is asleep my little brothers' evil side was going out and killing people.

So I wrote us back to children and him back to being dead.

My memory of all the intervening years got fuzzy soon after being  a kid again and I started seeing creatures that looked like something out of Beetlejuice's world lurking in the shadows. I had no idea what was going on - why I was seeing them and I was so scared because my little brother was dead - I didn't remember why it was so important that I not write him back to life but I knew I couldn't....

    Then I woke up

    Additional Comments:

I'm going to blame Alice for this one (That creepy version of Alice in Wonderland from 1988). I love that show ^_^ As unnerving as the dream was, I feel better for it. Much more rested!

I know there was more before this dream and I know I was actually Me in it - pretty sure my manager at work was involved.... but all I really get of it are vague impressions.

Oh - the girl I was and the rest of the family were nothing like my real ones. Entirely fabricated. (My real mom and brother are SO much more awesome than those guys LOL)
