It was like being sucked into a Zelda-esque game - the land itself was really beautiful in a weird way. All rolling hills with forests in the valleys. The sky seemed bigger with wide variations in  clouds - you could easily see where the storms were. There were also these isolated lightning storms, big black roiling clouds that hung low in the sky - drifting about halfway between the other clouds and the ground. These moved fast. Very fast.

I can't remember what I was trying to accomplish, if anything, I mostly remember seeing one of those black storms scooting quickly toward us (I was with a couple other people but I don't remember who). We had to race to the nearest house and almost didn't make it in time. I collapsed inside and wished I had gotten farther in to the house before dropping. I was too near a window and while the lightning couldn't reach the air felt heavy and painfully charged. It was enough to freeze my muscles as if they were cramping. It was an incredible relief when it finally moved on. I know it was moving pretty quick but it FELT like a long time.

When we were sure it had drifted well away we started to go back ourside but as soon as I peeked out the door I heard this distinctive, odd chirping and glimpsed a little yellow cricket with a black stripe down its back. Icy fear shot down my spine and I slammed the door, ran the other direction yelling for everyone to grab something blunt and weapon-like. I recognized the cricket from my first experience there - I couldn't remember exactly what it did but it was bad and permanent. (I think it drained intelligence - I mostly remember knowing that you REALLY did not want that thing to touch you) Everyone around went in to a panic - most people simply ran away. Only the brave risk getting close to those crickets to kill them.

I only remember the end of the dream and even that not very well. (*grumble*)

I was at work and my voice started getting gravelly (In waking a coworker sounded like this a couple days ago - not sure what it was but she was sick for  a few days) and the others insisted I was getting sick and go home. I argued that aside from my voice, I felt fine. They pushed until I agreed. I started walking home since I didn't live far away. (Note: I worked in the same store, lived in the same house and was myself - but the rest of the scene was different. We were on some island that looked like it might have been off the coast of Washington or Oregon)

On the way home a friend (or friendly neighbor? Not sure - just know that I didn't have a problem with the sudden company) saw me and offered to walk home with me. So we chatted as we went - I was almost home when we saw a fairy-like imp critter. All knobby joints, pointy ears, red hair and skin that looked like tree bark. His wings looked like a dragonflys' but ended in points. Even though it was only about eight inches tall, it seemed bigger. He was accompanied by a fairly normal looking guy with wavy black hair and one of those secretly entertained smiles. I couldn't recognize the human but I did recognize the imp after a moment.

"You're Loki, aren't you?" I asked and the little imp beamed at me, laughing in delight."It's an honor to meet you."

"Keep up the flattery." He snickered and my friend pulled me away, walking quickly toward the house. I dragged behind, wanting to talk to those two and find out who the other guy was. They followed behind, pretending to be casual.

When we got to the house I started to invite them in but my friend pulled me in and slammed the door. "Don't even THINK about asking them in! What's wrong with you?! Those two are tricksters! There's no telling what they would do if they got in here! They could trash your house!"

I nodded, annoyed. I knew what they were capable of but I really doubted they would do anything bad. After a bit the friend left. I saw Loki playing in a bush outside, smiled and 'forgot' to close the door. Soon they were knocking at the door, waiting politely at the threshold even though it was open. The other one smiled at me "Just wanted to come say hello."

Of course I welcomed them in. Loki had changed form - becoming normal human size without the wings though the coloration stayed the same. We talked for a while. I realized I was still in work clothes so excused myself to change out of them while they played with the cats. (The cats loved them LOL)

I had pulled on an oversized Tshirt when I heard a crash and ran out to see what was going on. Nothing was out of place and all four of them looked supremely innocent - all I could was laugh. Seeing Joshua hanging out with Loki, I thought of something. I sat down next to them and asked Loki if he would help us with her. I explained the situation (This has really been bothering me in waking world - she's about 6 years old, spayed for five of them but still has a thing for spraying. It's a pain to try and figure out where that stink is coming from!) and he said he would talk to her.

About then I heard my husband coming home, realized that after the crash I came out wearing nothing BUT a really big Tshirt and got ready for the 'are you cheating on me!?' thing.

Before he got a chance to start  on it I hopped up. "This is Loki and Morden (or was it Mordon? Still a name I don't recognize) - I'll be right back." and zipped off to finish getting dressed. By the time I got back he knew what was going on (somewhat) and wasn't mad. (It honestly surprised me that even though I was half naked - it just never entered my mind as something to be concerned about - they were so not human it was a non-issue)

Bit of garble here.... I stepped outside for something and next thing I know I'm clinging to the side of a cliff. I vaguely remember being told to get to a certain point at the base. Very annoyed about that. It had something to do with a very bored guy and his pointless but entertaining (for him) tests. After climbing down, clinging to the rocks and getting soaked by sea spray there were a few other minor trials - the last of which had an audience. It was like one of those really annoying surreal puzzle games. I only got out of it because one of my friends in the audience gave me some hints using body language.

The guy refused to let me go when he realized what happened. Luckily that same friend was aware of the rest of the situation and slipped out, returning with Loki and Morden. They were rather unhappy that this guy was being a total jerk to someone they were rather fond of.

I woke before the situation was completely resolved.

    Additional Comments:

I can't help but be disappointed that those two aren't real. Half hoped they would be sitting in the living room when I woke up. hehehe

I was working at a seaside restaurant, switching between cooking, cleaning, serving and waitressing as needed. It was a blah sort of job that I didn't love but didn't hate. What I DID love was the porch attached to the break room on the second floor. (Most of the second floor was extra tables for reservations and parties). The air felt different there, plants were everywhere and through some of the trees surrounding it you could see the ocean - it was a rocky coast, not sandy. The view was impressive and there were rarely people clambering over the sharp stones.

There was also a woman who came to talk to me sometimes. (Other employees were aware of her, thought she was a ghost) I loved visiting with her. She looked mostly normal, tall, thin, dark gold hair and eccentric clothes - they reminded me of the chaotic layers of a baglady but all of excellent quality. A bit dirty and rumpled but not tattered. The colors were usually in the blue/grey range, though. I knew she came from a different place... diferent plane. I knew she was a supernatural entity and would talk to me about all kinds of interesting subjects.

The part that fascinated me the most, though, was that if I could get her to laugh or relax (usually when singing or dancing), her focus would waver and the illusion of her appearance would fade. She would go from a beautiful fae woman to a wrinkled, ugly goblin. (Similar to the one with the long nose on Legend). I was never scared of her, nor repulsed by her true form - I adored her.

Toward the end of the dream she came less, I think she was getting in trouble for spending so much time around me. Another fae came to visit me and warn me that I was visiting with her too much  and needed to stop before I became addicted. I was pondering his meaning since I didn't know it was possible to be addicted to their company when I woke up
