Cheboygan On TV! Not.

One dream from my nap, after going back to sleep, concerned Cheboygan's Gordon Turner Park appearing on TV! The blond lady from Third Watch (Amy Carlson) may have been involved. Not sure who was. But Dad (and Ma?) and I saw a deck/boardwalk/bridge? featured in the background on something and I was so thrilled. "Is that ours?" I asked, excited that my hometown had been featured on national TV. I knew where the shot had supposedly been taken from--and it was our utility room. So I went out there and stood where the cameraman would have had to stand...and first I saw the scenery around the house and my spirits fell. Too many trees and such; I knew there was water and a deck/boardwalk/bridge beyond my sight, but that's just it, they were beyond my sight. Then I noticed the WALLS before me (it was as if I'd seen through them before), and my spirits fell even more. "No," I sighed. "I guess that wasn't ours after all." Meaning, I guessed we hadn't been on TV; it was some other deck/boardwalk/bridge. My family tried to encourage me, but I was so crestfallen. I'd been sure our city had been on TV. It was evening here, with the deck/boardwalk/bridge in the distance to my left (in the east)...so peaceful, yet sad to me.

Garden Snakes Don't Have Rattles!

Several days back I dreamed Ma went outside to get the mail and came back in staring at her hand. "Some garden snakes bit me!" she exclaimed, and I think I saw puncture marks in her hand. "They just shook their little rattles and sank their teeth right into me..."

Garden snakes (did she mean garter snakes?) do NOT have rattles, so I asked her if she'd called 911. No. I said, "Ma...I am GOING to call 911!" So I think I tried to call there, and work, to let them know what had happened...

Seduced By The Snake Lady

One dream from yesterday had an adult aspect and, again, an animal. (I wish I could explain this, I really do.) In this one, I was Timothy Hutton's character Archie from Nero Wolfe (that was on TV while I was sleeping) and I was running around outside my house, trying to escape this large snake-woman. She was like a Naga or something, a snake with a woman's face. Not smooth either, but segmented almost, pale green and kind of ugly; I wouldn't know about her face, but I feel it was harsh looking. She was trying to seduce me, and I was running away. o_O Finally I hid around the corner of the house and pondered if I should let her catch me. I would try to trick her. I pretended to be frozen with fear, trying to find another place to run, when she appeared around the corner and came at me. She may have wrapped around me, but I didn't try very hard to flee. Hmmm...not sure what else to say. She was happy she'd caught me, and I started to LIKE her attentions. And then I was not Archie and she was not a she, but I think I was myself and the snake was a male. Same feelings held though. o_o No, the dream didn't go much beyond that, but I do think I was playing coy with the snake, and this is all very weird.

That one reminds me vaguely of a recurring Algonquin myth theme that involves a husband suspecting his wife is unfaithful; he follows her when she leaves the tribe and finds her going to visit a large water serpent, who wraps himself around her after she's disrobed...you can figure that part out...and she later on conspires to kill her husband. But he always kills her and the serpent first. It seems to be a popular theme among these natives.
