In this dream I was a Witch - but a good Witch, and I was battling a bad Witch.

It started with my flying which I haven't done in many dreams lately.  It was fairly effortless, unlike some of my previous flying experiences where I experienced a lot of anxiety over flying, or had difficulty keeping myself in the air.  I was flying over a river and there was another person who I believe to be my mother running along the side of the river to keep up with me.  There was a third person also coming along, though I don't remember who, or by what means.  We were travelling to my parents house where I planned to battle this bad Witch.

While I was over the river I noticed a whaling boat pulling a dead dolphin about 100 yards behind it.  I was repulsed by the slaughter and flew down to the side of the river where I found an old case of empty beer bottles.  I flew up above the ship and started throwing the empty bottles onto the deck aiming to ruin their efforts.

I continued flying towards my parents house, doing so slowly so that the person running next to the river could keep up with me.  When I got to their house it was pitch black outside and I only felt a small amount of fear about the situation.  My mother warned me that this Witch would probably hide in the trees so that I couldn't see her approach.

She appeared out of the trees and the battle began.  I was a little confused because I didn't know any spells to cast on her, but I sort of just made them up and they all appeared to work on her.  After I cast the second spell she turned into a doll and lay on the ground.  I knew that there was still power in her and I was fearful that she would "wake up" again, so I performed a spell on the doll to eliminate any evil spirits from it.  I then took the doll apart  piece by piece and began burning her.  Some pieces burned faster then others so I had to determine which materials were more flammable so that I could get rid of it completely.  I distinctly remember putting felt onto the fire last, it was part of her face.

All in all a very vivid dream!

Additional Comments:

I have been reading the book "ahab's Wife" which speaks a lot about the whaling industry, and the particular part I read last night was the main character being upset by seeing a whale being slaughtered which might help explain the dolphin incident.
