 So this one was odd.

A girl I knew (only in the dream) and I were playing a strange game.

The area was designed for this game. We were in one of a series of rooms stacked vertically. It was dark, but illuminated by black lights and flourescent patterns and strips upon every surface. Like some laser tag areas, but about the size of a bedroom in a house. The floor was made of solid, transparent glass, and attached to support columns, which also had the black lights strung around them in clear rubber tubing. The glass floor didn't extend to the walls, usually, except in two places, the entrance, and the exit (which led to the next level up). A step over the edge meant a fall into darkness for several stories, but whether the environment was cruel enough to let you die or simply lose, I didn't know.

The object of the game was to roll a very small ball (about the size of a bouncy ball, but very heavy for its size) along the floor from the door you enter the room to the door you exit the room. There was nothing to keep the ball from rolling over the edge, and in addition, there were obstacles along the way. It was a very tricky sort of game.

Anyhow, my partner and I (who were both naked for some reason, but unashamedly, and it wasn't actually a significant part of the dream) were doing quite well navigating the little ball around the first bend as the floor had a wall there. We managed to get it round the column, and then past the second one, with only a few missteps and narrowly-avoided ball drops. But just past that third column I somehow accidentally  knocked the ball up into the air and over the edge.

I went after it, as it was still partially visible, and managed to knock it upward into the air with my foot. Then, standing precariously on the edge of the floor with one foot, I kind of juggled it for a bit, almost catching it but not quite, knocking it up into the air with one hand, then the other, until finally I lost it. I regained my balance, at least, and waited for whatever happened when the game was lost.

But nothing happened, and after a moment we bagan to wonder whether the ball wasn't still in play somewhere. We looked around a bit, and she found it, suspended against the third column by one of the rubber tubes containing the black lights. Only, it was significantly below the level of the floor at this point...

But without giving it overmuch thought, I dropped my body down toward it, supported by my feet and one hand, and could just barely reach the thing enough to toss it back up over the edge. My partner caught it, I climbed back up, and we rolled it carefully to the exit area. And.... That's it, really. I have no significant feeling or emotional response about this dream. But, there it is.

I like "drawing" with ASCII, if you didn't notice.
