I'm in a nice bar that should have more traffic than it does. It seems that the marketing for this place has not been done properly. It has a nice concept and there should be more people here than there are. I think that I could run this place better and make it more profitable. I would love to take on this task and be in charge of this tavern! Ideas come to me from all throughout the bar itself. I don't remember the name of this place, but it may have had something to do with tequila. There is a specific name that I think would work better for this bar, but that has also been forgotten. In fact, I may have even gotten input from a few of the employees as to what the name should be, but I'm not certain. There are poster-sized, beer-sponsored signs all around the bar that have the brand name on them at the top and a large area underneath for people to write clever things on. I think that this is a cool idea, but it doesn't look professional. I think of consolidating the info from some of the signs into professional-looking ones. I look over a menu of about four pages and it is much too crowded with too many items and too confusing. I know that I could make up a much simpler version that will be more presentable, also with a different typeset that will complement the new concept of the bar. I'm thinking of this bar being similar to that of a Hooters Restaurant, yet with its own personality and theme.
I envision a future time with me as the bar manager, dressed up in a suit. I'm somewhat of an important person here, and I am proud of my establishment. I think that I'm also single, and since I am popular, maybe I will meet someone. I decide that this career could possibly happen. I do have some college, I've been a bartender before, and I'm older. Perhaps someone would hire me as a bar manager nowadays. I plan on trying to do this, confident that someone will see my potential.
Later (in possibly a different dream), I'm playing a video game with my old friend, Russell. He is playing some karate-fighting game by himself, then he suddenly asks if I want to join in, maybe because he got a free game. At first, it seems that there are four players on the screen, so I'm somewhat confused but I start playing anyway. You have to hit two buttons alternately to get your character to fight.
The scene changes again, and I'm talking to Russell about his wife. She is from New Zealand and I somehow hear her with the foreign accent, but I didn't realize that she had lived there for so long. I thought that she had been here in the U.S. since a young age and I don't remember such a strong accent. He comments about how she thinks that I'm actually dumb or unintelligent. I know that he likes this because he won't have to worry about her being attracted to me. I'm pretty offended that she thinks this about me, but I realize that this is good for him and that I don't need to impress her anyway.
In another scene change, I am envisioning and craving a roasted ham. I think of how great it will taste.
Additional Comments:
This is one of those alternate life dreams; what I really wanted to do with my life. I'm also in the process of building an 8-ft. bar in my garage, but I've stopped for now.
The writing on the beer posters may have come from Skeeter's restaurant, our favorite family place to eat out. They have brown paper that they use as a tablecloth, and kids can color on them. They then post selected ones on the wall. The entire place was once covered with pictures, but they quit doing it for quite awhile. We just ate there yesterday, and they were finally posting them up again.
Russell used to say that if he looked like I did, he would attract and be with more women than he was. I always shrugged it off, but also took it as a compliment. His wife in not from New Zealand, she is American. When I woke up, "Frazier" was on. It may have been because of the character Daphne's accent or something that was said, I'm not sure.
I ate an Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich from Jack-in-the-Box today and was noticing what was put on it: two eggs, two slices of ham, and bacon. Yummy. I also had really wanted some ham for this past Thanksgiving or Christmas, but did not have any. I'm craving it now! Oh, and I also saw a dog trying to hump a potbelllied pig earlier today, before I went to sleep. It's true, haha.
