I'm sitting in Susan's apartment on one of her white couches. Austin's sitting in the armchair near the door. I think we're watching something on tv, and I'm also eating dinner. I've just made a bowl of mashed potatoes, scooped some out on a plate for me to eat, and set the bowl on the coffee table.

I keep asking Austin to either shut the door or to turn the ceiling fan off because I'm freezing. I have a blanket around me, but it's not enough; I'm still sooo cold. He won't do either, though, so I start to get frustrated.

My concentration isn't so much on the tv, rather I'm watching through the open door to see when Susan will be coming home.

Austin and I suddenly hear footsteps coming from upstairs. A girl with long blonde hair walks down and sits on the other couch. She grabs the leftover potatoes, which surprises me, and she starts eating them in silence.

I try to be polite, because the situation is just awkward. I assume she's in school, so I try to start talking to her.

"What year are you?"

"I'm a second-semester Senior." She has a deeper English accent, but she sounds like I'm annoying her or something.

"Oh, that's cool. What are you studying?"

"Bee-keeping."

"Wow, that's really great."

"Yeah, I should have already finished, but I didn't get to take a few courses last semester."

"What courses?"

"Just one on Horned Bees and the one that needed the digital booklet."

A few seconds later, a really tall guy comes walking in the open door, his dad following him. Now this guy is gigantic (relatively speaking), skinny, with long, shaggy, and curly brown hair. I somehow understand that he's going to school for bee-keeping, too, so I ask him what his favourite thing about bees are.

He laughs and starts acting out a situation he was once in. His animation is lovely. :)

"I had this chain-link shield. One bee came just BUZZING right at me! I had to put a halt to it, so I forced him onto the ground with the shield. (He's still acting it out.) Once you've restrained something so tiny yet so powerful like that, there's no way you can't not love it. I guess I just wanted to learn all I could about bees after that."

He looks over to his dad, "Oh, do you think Sam still has the video of that? I bet she'd enjoy it."

"I don't know, but I'm sure if you'd ask him, he'd be happy to find it."

I keep thinking to myself that I am really really enjoying this guy. But I accidentally look down and see that he's wearing a wedding band.  :(

Additional Comments:

Well, I went to bed last night thinking about how I desperately needed to work on a few of my characters. And this guy popped up like he was perfect for the role.

And talk about the ultimate unavailable guy.
